Future plans for Little Delicacies [OUTDATED]

Updated: Dec 3, 2023

Since the release of LD BETA V1, many people have not yet seen the plans I have in store for the mod. In today's post I will be revealing some project notes and Concept Art in our project concepts folder. Please keep in mind that the things I will post here may change or be edited in the future. We would love to hear your opinions and thoughts in the comment section below.

Update Plans

The BETA has many placeholders for the models, buildings, and textures, meaning that we will replace all of these in later updates of the mod. We also have received a lot of feedback since we launched the download of the beta for LD to the public. So, I created a list of the top goals for the next update.

Things to update:

  • Cafe buildings and their spawn level/rates in-game.

  • Edit the structure spawn height.

  • Update Cafe buildings to more suitable adorable themes.

  • Update Awnings.

  • Update other furniture.

  • Update the "Sugarn" portal tree.

  • Remove the servant voices until we make original voice packs.

  • Lower chances of the maids talking triggers (To avoid constant line repetition).

  • Make a new layout menu for the maids.

  • Make a new layout for the jobs tab.

  • Make a new layout for the maids change selection.

  • Name all foods/mod items to proper names in English.

  • Fix tools/weapons appearance when servants hold them.

Models to update:

  • Update Human Maids+Butlers

  • Update EnderMaid And Add Ender Butler

  • Update squirrel Maid+Butler

  • Update Infected Zombie Servants

Future Mobs:

Among the human mobs, there are monster-themed mobs as well!

In History, bells were used to call servants and are commonly related to the idea of a servant, so, naturally, instead of using egg-shaped spawn eggs, we instead use call bells to represent these. Each call bell will summon a servant or maid of any height and gender of the particular species the bell represents. Each bell has a different appearance to be able to tell apart what mob they summon.

(These bells represent currently available mobs in the mod)

Mob spawn bell in order;

  • Maid.

  • Butler.

  • Trader.

  • Ender (Only Ender Maid for now).

  • Cow (Only Cow maid for now).

  • Squirrel Maid.

  • Squirrel Butler.

  • Planter

  • Zombmaid.

  • Zombutler.

We're still working on the finalized versions of the current Monster/Kemono/Human mobs we have so far. I have prepared more documents with the stats and info of the current mobs we have available as well as future ones.

The following ones are all links you can click, that will take you to a respective document.

Vanilla themed mobs:

Plant themed mobs:

Kemono mobs:

Bug mobs:

Kaibutsu mobs:

Voice Types

  • Default.

  • Deredere.

  • Yandere.

  • Mayadere.

  • Kuudere.

  • Tsundere.

  • Dandere.

  • Himedere (Maids Only).

  • OujiDere (Butlers Only).

  • Hinedere.

  • Sadodere.

  • NyaaDere.

  • Extra (Extra voices).

  • Custom Voice (Have the ability for players to make and import their own customized voices for either Maids or Butlers).

Depending on the species/gender the voices will sound slightly different for each personality type. For example: Spider Maids won't sound the same if one is a DereDere and the other one is a Yandere. Voices will be randomly assigned to servants that match their randomly generated personality type when they spawn.

I would also like to add the ability for players to make custom dialogue or scripts for their servants if they wanted to make maps, stories, or just custom or personal lines. This, of course, will only be available for text bubbles and not voices that are already in the mod, so the player will have to make a voice pack if they wish for their servants to say a specific thing that doesn't come in the default voice packs.

Maids can be found inside of generated structures, such as cafes, empty mansions, villages, etc.

Maid Cafes:

  • We will make maids spawn in a maid cafe. These cafes spawn in three different building styles, appearing in Small, Medium, and large sizes. They are rare structures you will find in the wild, but not so rare for it to be impossible to be found.

  • Maids that are on strike, or have no jobs will spawn around here inside and around the cafe. Cafe's should possess a special maid that is behind a counter that serves/sells sweets to the player for sugar or sugar cane.

  • Players can also buy sweets from the seller maids. Different sweets are generated in the Cafe Maids store daily.

  • Diverse maids with different skill levels and job specialties will spawn here. On rare occasions, the small-sized version of these cafes should spawn in a village.

  • The cafes will come either in pink, purple or, other colors (We're still working on that), all in pastel tones.

Structures come with:

  • Kitchen/Buy Counter.

  • Seating area.

  • Second floor for sleeping; If there is no second floor it means that it is underground for some smaller cafes as a basement.

Cafe Spawn Population:

  • Small cafe ~ 1-3 Retainers

  • Medium Cafe ~ 3-5 Retainers

  • Large Cafe ~ 5-9 Retainers

Dead retainers will be replaced with new ones that respawn to fill the empty gap of the particular population level. We'll make sure to keep the population low so it does not overload the game. We're looking into the possibility of maid cafes to have a similar function to dungeon rooms with spawners, programming them specifically to each building size of how many retainers will spawn, but that is one of the options we are discussing for now.

Cafes should spawn in similar themes to the biome they spawned in. For example, if a cafe spawns in a birch wood forest, the building will be made from the wood and materials from that biome, etc.

Biomes cafes will appear in:

  • Oak Forest

  • Dark Oak

  • Birch Forest

  • Spruce forest

  • Swamp

  • Bamboo

  • Jungle

  • Mushroom fields

  • Desert

  • Savanna

  • Snowy Tundra

  • Nether

I have many ideas and plans for the furniture in the mod, like to re-create the Zabuton Mod addon, but with extra seating, so maids can use it. Maids in idle or free mode will use chairs on occasion. Players can also use the furniture apart from the servants. I was aiming for an English Victorian/Japanese fusion of different furniture. Furniture should be customizable in color through dyes. Both the player and Retainers should be able to use this furniture similar to the furniture you can find in the Touhou Maids mod.
